Tica
The newest and youngest
member of the Kings (The Duke Street Queen? Oh well we picked the
name 19 years before a girl finally joined the band) Her dream is
to become a lounge singer in a red dress perched atop a black grand
piano. She was classically trained in voice at Doane College. She's
got the voices of Patsy Cline, Susan Tedeschi, and Janis Joplin
all rolled into one.
Tica's influences include local artists Lannie Garrett,
Sal Smith
& Mary Flower as well as the vocal stylings of Ani DiFranco, Patsy
Cline & Janis Joplin. To paraphrase Dave Marsh "I've seen the
future of the Duke Street Kings and her name is Tica Perri"
